Cuerpos Ingrávidos es una producción artística que parte de la inquietud por investigar cuales son las propiedades expresivas propias de las herramientas escultóricas digitales. Dicha concepción toma el testigo de la abstracción biomórfica del siglo XX, donde se considera que la obra era producto del dialogo entre la sensibilidad del escultor y las propiedades o significaciones intrínsecas de cada material.
En este caso, el medio elegido para ejercer dicha escucha activa son los entornos de modelado en realidad virtual. Un espacio cibernético donde toda la materia es dúctil y las leyes de la física se manifiestan en aparente estado de suspensión.
Ingravid Bodies is an artistic production that stems from the desire to investigate the expressive properties inherent to digital sculptural tools. This conception takes up the legacy of twentieth-century biomorphic abstraction, in which the artwork was understood as the product of a dialogue between the sculptor’s sensibility and the intrinsic properties or significations of each material.
In this case, the chosen medium through which to exercise this active listening is virtual reality modeling environments — a cybernetic space where all matter is ductile and the laws of physics appear to exist in a state of suspension.
